Hi - here's what's in this week's Equine Energetics Insider:

  • From my office
  • Why a regular rebalance is important
  • Want to improve your intuition?
  • Useful links

From my office:

Since hubbie had shoulder surgery recently I now have to fit his farm work into my day 😳  So far so good; he's been a good patient and not bossing me around *too* much... lol.  Luckily it's only adding an hour or so to my day (I've no idea what he usually does with his time 😆)

On my very first day as Chief Farmer, I had to help load up heifers (to go back to their dairy farm and have their babies).  Boy, it was obvious to me that I'm far too soft (ie empathic) for this job, as the 2 guys doing most of the work just poked and prodded (electric prod!) the poor girls to get them up the ramp into the truck.  It's not something you can prepare them for, and the truckies won't let you take all day doing it 'nicely'.

I daresay I'll be very glad to hand the reins back to hubbie when he's all healed!

Why a regular rebalance is important

It's pretty rare in my sessions that I come across a horse, animal (or person), who is in perfect balance, energetically, physically, emotionally.

One of the main questions that people then ask me is 'how can I keep her in balance', or 'why does he keep getting out of balance'.

Well, there's probably not a single animal or person that consistently stays in perfect balance.  We all get out of balance, for all sorts of reasons.

It might be some emotional setback, or an injury, it could be that you pick up some negative energy at a place you visit or people you're around. It could be the ongoing effects of past trauma.

Young horses (or animals, or people) are very prone to getting out of balance, just by virtue of growth spurts throwing everything out of kilter.  Or maybe you've moved your horse to a new place, or they're missing a friend.

The important thing is to start recognising the signs of imbalance, so you know to do something about it.

Those signs might be sudden unhappiness or grumpiness, clumsiness, decreased performance, ill health, etc etc.  If you know your horse (or yourself) well, you'll know when something just feels 'off'.  That's a great time to get in touch for a rebalance.

By getting your energy back in balance, you're enabling everything else to come back in to balance too.  For instance, the body will be better able to heal, or utilise healing; grumpiness or negative thoughts are released, etc.  (I always know I'm out of balance when I start to get grumpy, or hear myself saying negative things.)

I have quite a few clients with competition horses, who get me to do regular rebalances for them.  Because they're working at a high level, it can be more obvious when something isn't right, but I think it's also so great that they're constantly checking in with their horses, making sure they're happy and healthy, tweaking things to help them perform easily, and reassuring them that they're being listened to.

One told me last time,
"
We have have had an amazing season at level 3 beginning at bronze and finishing at gold and winning Champion Level 3 at Nationals. Please tell her how proud I am of her (I have but its even better from you)

I feel she needs your help as she seems on edge, not settled, there has been bouts of rough weather which really upsets her. Could you please check if there is anything extra I need to do to keep her happy and in peak physical health. (Teeth, feet, ulcers etc.)

I am training through the winter aiming to compete level 4 next season. We will not compete till spring and begin the new level with a practice day much the same as this season."

They're a great example of regularly checking in with the horse, and keeping everything in balance.  And they've been reaping the rewards!

Want to improve your intuition?

If you haven't already got yours, I'd highly recommend getting a deck of my Horse Oracle cards!

Oracle cards are basically a deck of cards with a different message on each.  You shuffle the deck, and pick a card - the one that jumps out at you, or just seems to present itself to you.

The message on that card is what you need to hear right now, and it's spooky how they seem to hit the nail on the head.

The Horse Oracle cards are designed as a way of finding out what your horse (or other pet) wants you to know right now.  They'll give you confirmation of your suspicions - or something you've been avoiding.  They're a great way of building and strengthening your intuition - and your connection with your horse, as they start to realise you are listening to them!

They come with a booklet with full explanations and extra exercises, and a handy velvet bag.
