Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a lovely festive season?
I spent a great few weeks dog sitting in Queensland over the holidays. I did a few touristy things while I was there; the big 2 animal encounters were visiting Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary on Xmas day, then swimming with green sea turtles down in northern NSW.
One of the (many!) koala pics below, they seemed pretty happy. Some of the enclosures seemed on the small side to me, but then koalas really don't do much for most of the day I guess. I was lucky (?!) enough to see one climb down their 'tree', have a pee, then climb back up a different 'tree', ha ha. They seemed well looked after; clean, well fed, there were water misters going some of the time and the enclosures had roofs (no sides). I also noticed that people doing the 'koala experience' didn't get to hold a koala, just stand very close for pics.
The turtle pic is a stock photo as I couldn't take any while snorkeling, but I was literally swimming above and alongside them which was amazing. I couldn't believe how big they were (weighed more than me, shell is at least a metre long). They were very unperturbed by us, just going about their business of feeding.
Apart from that I spent most of my time with my 2 great nephews (lol), Jasper and Alfie; couldn't ask for better company!

If things are back to normal now, take some time to sit with your animals. Just being with them can be enough to reassure them and get you both back on track. You might verbally tell them things are back to normal now, they're safe, loved, etc. If you can do any energy work, take a moment to ground their feet or smooth out their energy (or contact me for a session if you think they need extra help).
