Behind the scenes:

I hope you've all had a lovely festive season so far?  We really don't 'do' Xmas (in summer?  It's just not right!!) and had homemade pizza for lunch!

Below is a pic of what my Xmas day looked like...  the painter took 2 days off and is back hard it again so no rest for any of us, lol (Shiloh is not amused).

Making a deal with your horse

I've mentioned this to a couple of clients recently, and thought it was worth sharing wider.

Have you ever thought about making a deal with your horse?

We expect an awful lot of them...  but what's your side of the bargain - and, do you stick to it?

So, an example.

When I bought my mare about 10 years ago, it was obvious that she'd been 'made' to do things all her life so far.  She was 16.3hh, and at age 7 that's not yet fully mature so didn't always know what she was doing with all that body, in terms of balance etc.  She was being ridden in a drop noseband and spurs - and her owner told me I'd 'need' the spurs when I rode her (needless to say, I declined, and took the noseband off).  She'd only been ridden in an arena or flat paddock.  She'd also obviously been manhandled in order to do things with her; again, 'made' to do things rather than actually being taught how to do them and to be ok with them.

My previous horse was a 15.1hh Quarter Horse, so riding a 16.3 Warmblood cross was a little daunting!

Our deal then, right from the start, was that I would never make her do something she didn't want to do, as long as she agreed to endeavour to keep me on her back (I really didn't want to fall from that great height, lol).

Cutting a long story short, she did really well for a couple of years, but then she made it clear that she wasn't enjoying being ridden.  She'd been very good about keeping me on her back, but I knew that if I pushed the issue that would change.  I gave her some time off, thinking (hoping?) that she might change her mind - but she never has.  And I've stuck to my side of the deal and not made her do something she really doesn't want to do.

To me, riding isn't everything, having a happy horse is.

Your deal with your horse could be anything.  Just remember that if you want their trust, you have to stick to it.

I'd love to hear what yours is!

Energy and young horses

Something I've noticed when doing Animal Communication sessions or any kind of energy work with horses and other animals is that very young animals respond quite differently to older ones.

I actually find that I don't get nearly as much information from them.  It's as if they haven't quite developed their personalities yet which I suppose makes sense.  They're a bit of a blank slate.

I have one client with many horses, including foals and youngsters, who I do a Herd Balance for every month.  It's been interesting observing at what age the young ones are able to be included in that - it seems to be around the 6 month mark.  (I'm wondering now if there's a correlation to when they're weaned.)

So, as a guideline if you have youngstock, Energy Balancing & Healing is good from about 6 months on - and actually really great for them as they navigate growing and constantly being in and out of physical and emotional balance.

For Animal Communication sessions, unless there's something traumatic going on, I'd say wait til they're about 12 months, or even until a couple of months before they're going to be started, to prepare them.

Trusting the information

This tip is probably for those of you who are learning Animal Communication yourselves, or already doing some sort of energy work.

There are lots of different ways of doing things, and I want to encourage you to find what works for you.

I used to do all of my Animal Communication sessions sitting in my lovely armchair.  It gradually got taken over by a cat...  so, I stayed in my office chair in front of my computer, just turning the screen off.  After a while, I noticed that I quite often had my legs crossed.  Oh no, I though, that's bad...  I mean, that's not how you're supposed to meditate, is it?!

But when I checked in with myself, it really wasn't making any difference to the connections I was making or the information I was receiving.

I realised very early on that if I completely trust that I'm getting the correct information, then I will get the correct information.  It doesn't matter how or where I'm sitting.  It can be a leap of faith for some, but give it a go, what's the worst that can happen?!

Trapped Emotions stats

Trapped emotions are negative emotions that get stuck in the body when not processed / released at the time of an experience, trauma etc.

Horses get subjected to all sorts of experiences that can cause them trauma, so I've found it really beneficial to release their trapped emotions during my Animal Communication sessions (or you can book a standalone session here - for humans too.)

So, the latest stats on which are the most common Trapped Emotions for horses are (and where they're usually stuck):

1.  Abandonment (heart)
2.  Taken for granted (liver)
3.  Love unreceived (heart)
4.  Taken for granted (liver)
5.  Vulnerability (heart)

For more on Trapped Emotions have a read of this blog.

End of Year special offer

Give both yourself and your horse a gift before the year runs out, and get you both in balance ready for 2026!

Book an Animal Communication session (or repeat) for your horse / animal, and I'll do a free Energy Balance session for you (or a nominated person, as long as you have their permission).

These Energy Balance sessions are intuitive and tailored to the individual.  Depending on what's required, they may include things like a chakra balance, energy clear, adding protection, releasing trapped emotions etc.  You'll receive details of what was covered after the session.

A great way to clear any stresses or negative energy picked up over the festive season and set you up for the new year!

Just let me know when booking who the Energy Balance is for, and when you'd like it done if you have a preference (between now and 1st week of Jan).
